NexLearn’s SimWriter Licensed Globally for e-Learning Development

SimWriter has long been the preferred developer’s tool within our boarders, but a new licensing program is making SimWriter available to small South American development shops. Chilean developer Celeris is the first to take advantage of this program that will enable them to use the SimWriter tool to compete with larger developers and produce cutting-edge simulations.

Producing time and cost-efficient training is what has Celeris and many other developers interested in using SimWriter as its exclusive simulation development tool. Companies in United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Canada, and Mexico are also showing interest in SimWriter and are using the tool to turn traditional learning into immersive, interactive, socially-driven e-Learning.

For Celeris Director Fernando Boeri, the addition of SimWriter gives the production house the competitive edge they’ve been looking for.

“Since we are a small developer, we don’t have the same number of resources that many of the larger e-Learning companies have to dedicate to projects. However, by using SimWriter, each of our developers has the power to perform multiple tasks, including writing content, creating complex branching simulation maps, integrating graphic and media files, and even performing quality assurance,” said Boeri.

NexLearn, Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning Business Partner of the Year, is poised to make an industry-wide impact as a global company with the capacity to reach across borders to improve the quality of e-Learning worldwide.

“Immersive learning simulations aren’t new to the global market, but for many developers who don’t have a good tool for building them, there’s a lot of engineering know-how and Flash knowledge necessary to build them. SimWriter eliminates the need for that. An instructional designer without a technical background can create a high-quality simulation. With SimWriter, the focus can truly be on the content and the learning,” said Brandon Andrews, NexLearn vice-president.

SimWriter, a Brandon Hall Silver award-winner in 2007, continues to impress the global audience. With one version released each year, SimWriter is continually engineered to handle more complex functions with a simple interface and optimum usability. Use SimWriter to connect your world with outstanding e-Learning.

Ask the Expert

Question:
If I build a simulation using SimWriter, how easy is it to localize the content? I have learners who speak Spanish, French, and Italian.

Answer:
SimWriter’s export review feature makes it very simple to localize your content. When you’ve finished writing your simulation, you can select to export the review document. This will generate a landscaped document that you can edit. You translate the content directly in this document and then import that document into the simulation. The result is translated content on every stage—localized sim content.

Global Learning Needs

You can use culturally specific graphics in your simulation. Once you create them, place them on a template stage and right-click to add that image to your collections. You’re only a few clicks away from building an international image library for localizing your sims.
